Defense Supply Service-Washington intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Gensym Corporation, Cambridge, MA 02140 to provide G2 Programming Support Services for the U. S. Army Logistics Integration Agency. The contractor will be required to develop a fully integrated collection of computer-based models based upon the Gensym G2 programming language which simulate the Army Logistics business processes and their interation with military and commercial communications, ADP, financial and transportation systems. Individual system modules will address major Logistics processes such as Class IX supply support from wholesale level to divisional units. These modules will be capable of both independent execution and integration with other modules in various combinations up to and including the total logistics simulation. This procurement builds on, and enhances capabilites provided under previous contracts executed by the Army. The modules built under this contract will be compatible with and make optimum use of work already completed by the Army using a Team Development Approach under the direction of LIA.
