The project consists of a one-story steel frame building with brick veneer and a four-ply built-up roof. Also included are a loading dock with canopy extending on two sides; interior finish with paint, lay-in ceiling; floor tile; and extensive concrete paving, in accordance with the plans and specifications. Site is located on Wallior Street hear US Highway 190 and Highway 49 in Opelousas. Estimated cost range is $2,200,000 to $2,400,000 and construction time is 360 days. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned, and Woman-Owned Business initially and thereafter with their progress payment requests. The contractor must subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% and subcontract with woman-owned business firms in an amount not less than 7% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offeror must include documentation from bonding agent indicating offeror's capability at time offer is due. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on July 24, 2000. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available after June 23, 2000 at a cost of $150.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only.
