Scope of Work is to repair severely cracked asphalt pavement and
several areas with depressions in the pavement at Homestead Air Reserve
Station, Miami-Dade County, Homestead, Florida. The base is located
approximately thirty miles south of Miami, FL. The work includes but is
not limited to grinding the existing pavement surface and overlaying
and sealing a new asphalt pavement in the MAKO aircraft parking ramp
area. Following final rolling and compaction of the new asphalt
surface, taxi markings/stripes shall be painted onto the new asphalt
surfaces. The paint shall be applied as noted in the drawings and
specifications to include reflective glass beads in the applied paint.
Work must be coordinated with the Airfield Manager to minimize impact
to flying operations. Contractor must submit proof with proposal,
showing projects of similar magnitude and work completed satisfactorily
within the last five years, for the Government_s review and
verification. This acquisition is for a Firm-Fixed-Price contract. The
SIC is 1611. Magnitude of construction is estimated to be between
$250K and $500K. Project performance period is 60 calendar days. It is
anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on or about 15 Jul
00. Dates are for estimating purposes only, and may be revised as
indicated in the Request for Proposal (RFP). This solicitation is
unrestricted and is open to large, small, small disadvantaged, and
woman owned business concerns. Proposals will be evaluated pursuant to
FAR 15.101-2, Lowest Price Technically Acceptable Proposals. All
requests for the solicitation package must be made in writing.
