Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Midwest Area, has a project Painting of Animal Holding Facilities at the National Animal Disease Center (NADC), Ames, IA. The work includes but is not limited to: furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work to sandblast all interior surfaces, except floors, to prepare surfaces for painting and paint those surfaces.. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the applicable portions of the Specifications and Drawings. The Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000. The bid schedule will be issued for Base Bid and Add Alternate Item No. 1 and 2. The Base Bid period of performance will be calendar 90 days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed (NTP) (NTP estimated to be issued in October 2000), Add Alternate No. 1 period of performance 60 calendar days, after a 120 day waiting period from the completion of base bid, and Add Alternate No. 2 period of performance will be 60 calendar days, after a 120 days waiting period from the completion of base bid. A Bid Bond as well as Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required. The solicitation will be issued as Request for Proposal No. 5114-0-3146 and will be available on or about July 12, 2000, with proposals to be received not later than the 2:00 p.m (CST), August 15, 2000. The solicitation is issued pursuant to full and open competition and is unrestricted. Standard Industrial Classification Code of 1721, with a corresponding size standard of $7.0M.
