The Government intends to purchase on a sole source basis 20 each PN-530-2005-001 VMEbus MIL-STD-1397 E (NATO Low Level Serial) from VisiCom, 10053 Mesa Ridge Court, San Diego, CA 92121. This acquisition provides the hardware necessary to integrate NTDS interfacing required for the Advanced Multi-Configuration Environment Simulator (AMES) which provides the sensor and environment data simulations in support of USW AN/SQQ -89 software development, test, and evaluation. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures -- reference is Quote N00178-00-Q-9080. This procurement must be sole source based on the requirement to maintain compatibility and interoperability. Any other NTDS alternative would require a complete redesign of the AMES system.
