The Department of Treasury, Financial Management Service (FMS), Washington, DC, has a need for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform quarterly inspections, annual maintenance, and a major overhaul of the Hitec 1600 kVA backup power supply system. The system consists of a 16 cylinder Cummins diesel engine, type KTTA50-G2, induction coupling, and 1600 kVA generator. The components are containerized and located at the FMS, 3700 East West Highway, Hyattsville, Maryland 20782. Additional components are the unit control panel (UCP), switch gear, and choke panel which is located in the basement of the UPS room at 3700 East West Highway. System warranty: The contractor shall use factory approved parts to repair or replace components. The contractor shall provide 24-hour emergency service and one-year labor warranty on all work performed. The system is critical to the continuity of operations in the Hyattsville Regional Operations Center. Drawings, specifications, or schematics are not available from the agency. The period of performance will be one year with three one-year option periods. It is anticipated that a non-competitive sole source contract will be issued for maintenance and overhaul to: Hitec Power Protection, Inc., 12002 Exchange Drive, Suite 404, Stafford, Texas 77477 or an authorized distributor, unless additional sources are located.
