Electrical systems in Postal Service facilities must be inspected for compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Administration regulations. Inspectors must be certified by BOCA International Evaluation Services, Country Club Hills, IL or International Association of Electrical Inspectors, Richardson Texas. The level of certification desired is Plan Review, but not less than General Industrial/Commercial per BOCA Category and Exam Chart. Also, the electrical inspector must be trained and familiar with OSHA regulations, especially 1910 and subparts thereunder. The geographic area to be serviced is Central and Eastern Pennsylvania, which is known as the U.S. Postal Service Harrisburg District. It consists of the following three (3) digit Zip Code Areas 169-172, 177, 178, 180-188. (Harrisburg, Chambersburg, Williamsport, Bethlehem, Hazelton, Montrose, East Stroudsberg, Scranton, Wilkes Barre etc.) Inspection and final report must be completed with 30 calendar days from the date assigned. At this time the specific facilities and locations within the geographic area are not known. Postal owned and leased facilities are to be inspected. If the inspection uncovers code violations, repair will be made by others. Contractors will be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred from within the geographic area, after assignment to one or more inspections. Reimbursement will be per Postal Service regulations.
