E-MAIL: Frances B. Davidson, frances.b.davidson1@jsc.nasa.gov. NASA/JSC plans to issue an IFB for replacement of the existing aging 50 hp fire pumps in Buildings 1 and 45. The existing pumps are currently rated at 191' of head pressure at 500 gpm. of water flow. Basically this means that in case of a fire in either building the water will reach the upper most portion of the building and aid in extinguishing the fire. These older pumps will be replaced with new 40 hp pumps rated at 200' of head pressure at 500 gpm of water flow.The piping and valves to both pumps are to be replaced with new piping and valves to extend from the inlet OS&Y valve, to the pump to the outlet OS&Y valve, and all in between. New gages and vents are included. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $250,000 to $500,000 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 7389 and $5 M average annual receipts over three years, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about July 10, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about August 9, 2000. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB.
