16 -- TAMMAC DIGITAL MAP COMPUTERS POC Contact: Susan Shean, Phone: (301) 757-5932 The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) proposes to procure approximately 42 Tactical Aircraft Moving Map Capability (TAMMAC) Digital Map Computers (DMC) with Housing Extensions. The acquisition will include engineering investigations, evaluations and studies involving the TAMMAC system. The contract will be awarded on a sole source negotiated basis to Harris Corporation, Government Aerospace Systems Division of Melbourne, FL 32902 and will consist of a base year and two option years. The options will include approximately 84 DMC systems with Housing Extensions. The contract is anticipated to be awarded by March 2001. Harris is the sole designer, developer and supplier of the DMC and its Housing Extensions and is the only company with the necessary technical data. Harris is the only source able to satisfy the government's requirements for TAMMAC DMC production installations in F/A-18, H-1, and CH-60 aircraft. Delivery is required to be FOB destination to the aircraft manufacturer and is to commence in March 2002.
