The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to negotiate and award a sole source purchase order, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures (under FAR Part 13.5) to LaCoste & Romberg LLC, 4807 Spicewood Springs Road, Austin, Texas 78759-8435, a total of three (3), with an option to purchase, by 31 Dec 2000, an additional two (2), Land Gravity Meters, L&R E-Meter, with a trade-in allowance for old L&R G-Meters, to include operation and maintenance training. The basis for the proposed non-competitive action is that there is only one responsible source that can provide an instrument, utilizing emerging technologies, that can meet the technical requirements of this office and offer asignificant credit for trade-in of old obsolete equipment.
