The General Services Administration is requesting proposals from Energy Service Providers or Renewable Energy Producers able to provide a 100 percent renewable energy product for the new Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) New England Regional Laboratory that will be located in Chelmsford, Massachusetts at 11 Technology Drive. Construction is currently in progress and is expected to be complete by winter 2000/2001. In addition to the obvious environmental benefits of using green power at this facility, through this procurement the EPA hopes to encourage the installation of new renewable generation, support emerging technologies and support the development of a green power market in the New England region. The Request for Proposal will be available on or about July 7, 2000. The successful offeror will supply electricity for thirty-six (36) billing cycles, with a two year renewal option. The expected start date for delivery shall be the date that the Laboratory becomes operational in winter 2000/2001.
