edwardso@eglin.af.mil. Sole source procurement is contemplated with
Alliant Techsystems Precision Fuze Company in Janesville Wisconsin.
Alliant is the only known qualified source to perform this effort.
Procurement of up to 200 articles with 2 options of up to 100 articles
each of DSU-33B(D-2)/B dummy proximity sensors is necessary to support
Air Force DSU-33B/B Proximity Sensor load crew training requirements.
Production sensors are scheduled for delivery to Air Force inventory in
October 2000. D-2 dummy sensors are required to support training
commencement with inventory delivery. Alliant is the prime contractor
for DSU-33B/B proximity sensor and has the only operable manufacturing
capability for the DSU-33B(D-2)/B dummy proximity sensor. The
Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under
the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested parties may submit statements
of capability (SOC) demonstrating their ability to (1) Produce D-2
dummy sensors. The D-2s must have: a. Same shape, outward visual
appearance, and length and diameter of operation sensors; b. Capable of
duplicating every action of operational sensors during weapon build up
and loading; c. Identical electrical connections, operations, and
external physical characteristics of operational sensor; and d. Weight
and center of gravity within 10 percent of DSU-33B/B operational
sensor; (2) Meet minimum acceptable configuration requirements of
operational sensor; and (3) Perform the DSU-33B(D-2)/B production and
be responsive to the required delivery schedule. Responses will be
evaluated based upon knowledge of the DSU-33B/B proximity sensor and
the capability to produce and qualify DSU-33B(D-2) dummy sensor sensors
within the required delivery schedule. The closing date for submission
of qualifications is 15 days after date of publication of this notice.
This is not a request for proposal and is not to be construed to be a
