Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center -- San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN SAN DIEGO) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Advanced Research & Applications Corporation (ARACOR), 425 Lakeside Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94088-4701, for purchase of the following items: one (1) automatic semiconductor irradiation system consisting of a micro Manipulator semi-automatic wafer prober for 8" diameter wafers; one (1) radiation shield for x-ray testing; one (1) radiation shield insert; one (1) packaged device testing support consisting of three (3) rectangular packaged device cards with Textool ZIF sockets, an edge connector and dosimeter assembly for packaged devices; and one (1) Water chiller for x-ray generator and tube. These items must be compatible with the ARACOR Model 4100XP to insure comparability in test procedures and results between the present purchase and this previous testing database, which supports the Radiation Hardened TCAC program at SPAWARSYSCEN SAN DIEGO. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest and capability statements received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
