The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) intends to issue a sole source contract to the National Research Council (NRC), Board on Manufacturing and Engineering Design, for an Assessment of Materials and Manufacturing Processes for Advanced Sensors. Effort includes advice and guidance of the highest technical quality as to current and future sensor/sampling technologies by reviewing and assessing existing sensor systems, and the various manufacturing and technology needs. The level of effort is estimated at about 1.6 manyears over a sixteen (16) month period of performance. Based on NRC's unique qualifications, expertise, independence, and objectivity, as well as their Congressional charter to provide DoD such unbiased services, NRC is the only source capable of providing this assessment.
