B -- Evaluation of Stroller and High Chair Restraint Systems The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission intends to procure the services of a qualified contractor to perform an evaluation of the restraint systems used on strollers and high chairs, a determination of why the restraints fail, an identification of critical characteristics and/or features needed for restraints, and recommendations for restraint improvements. This is an unrestricted procurement. The SIC code is 8999 (services, not elsewhere classified) with a small business size standard of $5.0 M. The small business size standard is provided so that interested sources can appropriately represent themselves as small or large. A firm-fixed-price, simplified acquisition is contemplated and will be processed in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act as implemented by Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. CPSC-Q-00-5205 will be released on or about July 12, 2000 with writtenquotations due on or about August 4, 2000. All responsible sources may request a copy of the RFQ by fax at (301) 504-0628 and submit a written quotation which shall be considered by the agency. No telephone requests for copies of the RFQ will be accepted. The government will not pay any cost for the preparation and submission of a quotation. The final award decision may be based upon a combination of price, demonstrated ability to perform the work, demonstrated ability to provide high quality work products, past performance in similar or related work, and other evaluation factors as specified in the RFQ.
