and $5,000,000. The work is located approximately 18 miles west of
Farmington, New Mexico, in San Juan County. The principal components of
the work to be performed includes the following: Excavation for dam,
sheet piles, and fish passage; compacting embankments for construction
of dikes; installing government-furnished steel sheet piles;
constructing a bentonite slurry trench; placing and grouting
government-furnished 15-inch riprap; hand placing and grouting
government-furnished 48-inch riprap in fish passage; constructing
reinforced concrete trashrack structure; and furnishing and installing
a metal walkway; fencing, log boom and trashracks. A prebid site tour
and bid conference will be held by the Bureau of Reclamation. At this
time, a firm date has not been set for the site tour. When a site tour
date has been set, the tour will be held in Reclamation's conference
room located at the Farmington Construction Office, 2200 Bloomfield
Highway, Farmington, New Mexico.It is anticipated that the actual tour
will take approximately 4 hours and cover approximately 45 miles. The
Government will not provide transportation for the bid conference/site
tour. Four wheel vehicles will not be necessary. For information please

Indian Preference programs is of the utmost importance. The goal for
hiring of Navajo Tribal members is 100 percent. To obtain information

Activity tax is applicable to work covered by this solicitation.
Federal, State, and Local taxes are also applicable. For the purpose of
determining correct labor rates, all work under this solicitation shall
be considered heavy construction. Completion date: The work shall be
completed and ready for use by November 30, 2001. THIS SOLICITATION
