Background "Project Number 940078, Solicitation F33601-00-R9018 The scope of this project consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, appliances, devices, materials, and performing all operations necessary in connection with ""Interconnect Alarms Facility 30002, Project # 94-0078"". Project also includes removals and miscellaneous work as herein specified and as shown, indicated, or noted on the drawings. The project will ensure the entire building population and the fire departments are properly notified of an alarm situation. The interconnection of the differing system components, technology, and age of the existing systems will present an unusual and complex challenge. Due to the complex and highly specialized nature of this project it will require the contractor have a great deal of experience with fire alarm equipment and numerous fire alarm systems. The facility will remain open to the public during construction, which will also present scheduling, coordination, and safety challenges for the contractor. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after the closing date. Mr. Stephen J. Plaisted has been appointed as Ombudsman to hear concerns from offerors, or potential offerors, during the proposal development. The purpose of the Ombudsman is to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. Existence of an Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or the contracting officer.
