Work consists of the general construction of road repairs to stabilize portions of Harper's Corner roadway. At milepost 8.4, an active rotational slump has caused the road to shift. The road was temporarily re-aligned in 1995. Repairs at this location will consist of the construction of a "shear key" using riprap material, filter fabric, drain pipe. The roadway shall be reconstructed by re-establishing vertical and horizontal alignment, placing new road base and pavement material, and establishing a paved drainage ditch. At milepost .05, a 100-year storm cause flooding in Dripping Rock Creek, scouring out a section of embankment supporting the roadway. Repairs at this location will consist of re-building the embankment with fill material and riprap material with filter fabric. A portion of the riprap shall be grouted. The construction of an access road will be required at this location. The roadway and asphalt curb shall be reconstructed above the embankment. Two culverts shall be cleaned of debris material. Additives to this project include the re-construction of paved ditches near Plug Hat Rock. Work is being done in DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT, CO. Estimated price range $250,000 -- $500,000.
