The National Park Service is soliciting bids to remove and replace an asphalt parking area to accommodate RV and Bus parking at the Natchez Trace Parkway's Visitor Center, located approximately five miles north of Tupelo, Mississippi. The existing parking area is approximately 23,190 square feet in area and the new parking area will be 45,870 square feet in size. The scope of work includes all materials, labor, equipment, and supervision necessary to completely remove the existing asphalt parking area, concrete curbs and sidewalks and to construct the new parking area according to plans and specifications. The construction of the new parking area will include grubbing, excavation, embankment, base stone, hot bituminous pavement, concrete curbs and sidewalks, pavement markings, drainage structure, traffic control devices, removal and installation of flag pole, seeding, mulching and sodding. Magnitude of this project is $250,000 to $500,000. Procurement is being conducted under full and open competition procedures. Solicitation package will be available o/a July 20, 2000.
