The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement for an imaging sensor to be installed in the SHAred Reconnaissance Pod (SHARP) system. The SHARP system will provide a full range of reconnaissance capability to the F/A-18E/F aircraft. The contract type is anticipated fixed price for the sensor line items and cost plus incentive fee for the engineering, integration and logistics efforts associated with the sensor. It is anticipated that this solicitation will be released 15 July 2000. A pre-proposal conference is tentatively scheduled for 16 August 2000. NAVAIRSYSCOM intends to release the solicitation and any subsequent amendments electronically via the Internet.
