Agriculture intends to procure a Joel U.S. A., Inc. Mass Spectrometer
System, or an equal product. The specifications as a minimum are: high
resolution double-focusing ion optics bench, electron impact
ionization source and chemical ion source, positive and negative ion
detection, resolution greater than 5,000, mass range of 1,000u at 2.5
kilovolt acceleration potential, fully laminated magnet capable of
scanning at a rate of 0.07 seconds/decade, microprocessor based control
GC/MS interface and heated sample/reference reservoir inlet, full
automatic self-protected differential pumping vacuum system, turbo
molecular pump based vacuum system, dell dimension XPS R Minitower,
Pentium III Processor, 600MHz with 512 KB cache, 128MB SDRAM, 30.0GB
Hard Drive, 1.44MB Floppy Drive, 3COM Ethernet Card, Windows 98, 19"
monitor and Hewlett-Packard LaserJet printer and cables (or
equivalent), software: the Shrader systemR for Windows, installation
and training. An IFB will be issued on or about July 20, 2000. All
