Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to remove the existing boilers and install new boilers in three (3) buildings at the former U.S. Coast Guard Facility on Governors Island, New York City. Building #1 which is a historic residential structure and Building #298 which was the former Officer's Club require the installation of new, gas, cast iron steam boilers while Building #403, a former single family residence, requires the installation of a new gas, hot water cast iron boiler. Site visits are tentatively scheduled for 26 July and 2 August at 10 AM. Advance reservations are required. This Request for Quotation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small business participation and is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. The applicable SIC Code is 1711. The tentative date for receipt of quotes is 8 August 2000. Bid packages will be available on or about 15 July 2000 at a non-refundable charge of $51. For minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: the Department of Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
