COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 3,2000 PSA#2634U.S. Department of Education, Contracts and Purchasing Operations, CPO,
7th & D Streets SW, Room 3616, Washington, DC 20202-4443 B -- EVALUATION OF 21ST CENTURY COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTERS PROGRAM POC
Pamela J. Weaver, Contract Specialist, 202/260-0183//Dorothy A. Hunter,
Contracting Officer, 202/708-9256 The Department of Education intends
to modify the scope of work of contract # ED-99-CO-0134 awarded to
Mathematica, of Princeton, NJ. Since the original statement of work was
written the program has grown from a $200 million program to a FY2001
budget request of $1 billion. The original study of 20 sites is
inadequate for the needs of ED. The purpose of this modification is to
expand the evaluation in two ways: 1) to include a sufficient number
of sites to obtain policy relevant minimum detectable effects and 2) to
collect and analyze Annual Performance Report data throughout the
duration of the contract. The tasks involved are: (subtasks 3.2, 3.3,
task 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 11). The US Department of Education intends to
execute this modification on or before August 11, 2000. See Note 22.
