SOL WASC-0-1144 DUE 080300 POC Randall Brown (206) 526-6226/FAX (206) 526-6025 Contractor will utilize scat samples from California sea lions and harbor seals to derive correction factors to estimate biomass of each prey species being utilized by subject pinnipeds. Contractor will use either the "biomass reconstruction model" or the "split frequency model" to derive correction factors. Proposed contractor must possess 1) knowledge of pinniped feeding habits studies on the West coast of the U.S.; 2) prior experience conducting captive feeding studies, especially on California sea lions and harbor seals; and 3) access to subadult and adult captive California sea lions and harbor seals.
