D -- NETWORK SUPPORT SERVICES SOL N68936-95-D-0013 DUE 080700 POC Barbara J Hall, Contract Speciailist, (760) 939-1064, Mary Jacobs, Contracting Officer, (760) 939-6043 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWPNS), China Lake intends to procure an extension to the current Network Support Services (NESS) contract N68939-95-D-0013 for a one-year period of performance. The contract extension will be issued on an other than full and open competition basis. This contract is for the acquisition of services and materials necessary for the planning, development, installation, operation, maintenance, modification and enhancement of wide and local area networks for NAWCWPNS. These services encompass the spectrum of voice, data, video, and image networking services. The contract is a cost plus award fee, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, fully competitive contract with OAO Corporation for omnibus IT support services. The contract extension duration is for a total of one-year commencing 01 October 2000. Work will be authorized in four month phases due to the uncertainty of implementation date of the Navy-wide Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (N/MCI) contract at NAWCWPNS. Future requirements are within the scope of the Navy-wide Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (N/MCI) contract which will be mandatory for all Navy and Marine Corps activities. At this time, NAWCWPNS anticipates the N/MCI contract will not be awarded and implemented in time to provide the required support services at NAWCWPNS at the start of FY 2001. Since the current NSS contract expires on 30 September 2000, there is insufficient time available to award a competitive contract to meet the requirements and provide for continuity of network support services.
