DESC: IAW AR 215-1, 7-4 and 7-5, the U.S. Army Alaska is conducting a review of potential contractor services for performance of the Directorate of Community Activity Services at the U.S. Army Garrison. Programs and facilities are geographically dispersed between Fort Richardson, located in Anchorage, Alaska and Fort Wainwright located adjacent to Fairbanks, Alaska. The major functional areas under consideration are Libraries. The purpose of this notice is to identify and establish initial interest from the vendor community. Responses are for planning purposes only. There is no obligation on the part of the government to issue a formal solicitation as a result of this request and participation in this effort is strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the US Government. Information may be used to help formulate bidder's mailing lists, acquisition strategies, to include socioeconomic program support and to help establish commercial practices available to the government. Services are currently being performed by Government employees (appropriated and nonappropriated funding). Libraries: The days of operation are Monday through Thursday 11AM to 8PM, Saturdays 1 to 5PM. Provide programs/services: Ready reference and reader advisory service, complete service library, current best sellers list/books, bibliographies search, copier service, public use computers w/internet access, catalog and maintain inventory of collection, equipment loan (typewriters, slide projectors, filmstrip projectors, microfiche reader/printer), Inter Library Loan, mend/restore/repair collection, outreach service to Bassett Army Community Hospital. Estimated yearly customers = 48,425.
