This publication serves as a notice of intent to negotiate a sole-source contract with the state of Hawaii, Office of the Director of Civil Defense 3949 for support services to implement the Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Implementation Plan, specifically the development of the Tsunami evacuation maps and Tsunami mitigation programs. In addition, the mapping/modeling activities include: 1) the acquisition, testing and installation of Tsunami Coastal recorders; 2) upgrading existing Tsunami evacuation maps; and 3) provide support with meetings and scientific projects of the State Civil Defense Tsunami Technical Review Committee. Mitigation activities include: 1) acquisition and delivery of emergency alert radios; 2) participation in the National Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Steering Committee meetings; and supporting existing public outreach programs. The Government intends to negotiate with this unique source, state of Hawaii, Office of the Director of Civil Defense 3949, as they are the state authority responsible for participating in and managing the state of Hawaii's portion of the Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Implementation Plan.
