PROJECT 1.Construction of a Berm and Dune Project, for U.S. Marine
Corps, Camp Lejeune, on Onslow Beach, approximately 5,500 feet in
length utilizing a Hydraulic Pipeline Dredge. Max pumping distance is
approximately 6 miles. Material will be excavated from 2 existing
upland dredge material disposal sites as well as from the New River
between the AIWW and the Atlantic Ocean. The material to be placed on
the beach will form a 50 foot wide berm at elevation 10 feet mean sea
level and a dune with a crest width of 25 feet at elevation 14.5 feet
mean sea level. The slope on the dune will be 1 foot vertical to every
5 feet horizontal. The full dune and berm width will be for a distance
of 4,500 linear feet with 500 feet long transitions on each end of the
full berm and dune width to tie back into existing conditions. Total
estimated dredging volume is 720,000 cubic yards. The magnitude of the
project is between $1,000,000. and $5,000,000. 2. AVAILABILITY AND
CHARGE: THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE ON
CD-ROM, WILL BE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, AND SHOULD NOT BE RETURNED.
Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed paper hard
copy form. Amendments will be made through either a 3.5" Diskette,
CD-ROM, or hard copy. The CD-ROM contains simple window viewing
application and two (2) commercial software applications. All
applications contained on the CD-ROM can be run from the CD-ROM. No
installation is required. The recommended minimum hardware requirements
are [1] 486/66 personnal computer; [2] 8 or 16 MB RAM; [3] CD-ROM
drive; [4] Windows driven printer. The recommended minimum software
requirement is Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT. All
Bid Forms, Bid Bonds, and other normal documents required for bid
submittal shall be in paper medium. Electronic medium for bid submittal
