limited to, the following items of work. Maintenance dredging will be
performed at various locations along the Upper Chesapeake Bay portion
of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal from Station 162+308 to Station
250+440 (Lower Chesapeake Range). Dredging will be required to a depth
of 40 feet with a one foot allowable overdepth permitted. Work areas
will be limited by a vertical plan through the required depth contour
with no side or end slopes. Dredging will be performed to a point
extending 25 feet outside the channel edges when shoaling occurs along
the channel edge within the authorized channel limits. This contract
must be performed by Bucket Dredge only with placement by bottom dump
scows. Overboard disposal area known as Site 92 in the Chesapeake Bay
is the only disposal area approved for this contract. Solicitation
documents will be furnished only on CD-ROM; hard copies will not be
available. The official media of distribution for this solicitation is
on CD-ROM. One copy of the CD-ROM will be furnished to each bidder at
no charge. Requests for a CD-ROM shall be made by registering on the
Internet or submitting a request in writing to the attention of David
Dilks. Requests may also be submitted by fax to 215-656-6780 please
reference the solicitation number. All requests must include a physical
street address, telephone and fax number, Federal Tax Identification
number, and business size. Failure to provide any changes in mailing
address, phone number, or fax number may cause a delay in receiving the
solicitation and amendments. Additional copies of the CD-ROM will be
provided at a charge of $5.00/CD, made payable to "USACE Finance
Center, Millington" sent to the above address. Your firm's Federal Tax
Identification Number must be written on the check; personal checks
must be annotated with the individual's Social Security Number. Payment
will not be refunded and CD's need not be returned. Bidders are
responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. The
solicitation issue date is on or about 18 July 2000. Bids will be
opened on or about 17 August 2000 at 11:00 A.M. Contractors may view
and/or download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet
on or after the issue date. Completion time for this project is 120
calendar days. This procurement is unrestricted. The Standard
Industrial Classification Code is 1629 with a size standard of $13.5
Million. The estimated range of the project is between $1,000,000 to
$5,000,000 and bonding is required. Liquidated damages will be
specified. Affirmative action to insure equal employment opportunity is
applicable to the resulting contract. Award will be made as a whole to
