The work of this project consists of the rehabilitation of a 19th century historic, wood-framed ranch house and attached bunkhouse at the Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, California. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary to perform work that includes: selective demolition of deteriorated framing and finish materials; lifting the bunkhouse, building a new foundation, repairing its walls; installing a new foundation under the main house; wood window repair and replacement; install forced air heating system; repair plumbing in bunkhouse; install fire sprinklers, pump, and associated electrical supply; upgrade electrical service; interior and exterior painting; roofing; install kitchen and bathroom cabinets; and install bathroom fixtures. The estimated price range of the project is between $250,000-$500,000 with completion required within 120 days after issuance of a Notice to Proceed. The resulting award will be based on a 'greatest value' to the Government determination to be made after considering costs and factors other than cost (i.e., experience and past performance of firm and project personnel) as set forth in the solicitation. The Request for Proposal will be available approximately July 26, 2000. The due date for receipt of proposals will be approximately 30 days after issuance.
