54 -- BLOCKED TRASHRACK EXTENSIONS, THE DALLES SOL DACW57-00-R-0002 DUE 090500 POC Wanda Ferris, Contract Specialist at (503) 808-4610 The Portland District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a contract to design, fabricate, and install horizontal trashrack extensions to existing vertical trashrack blocks. The extensions will be fabricated from structural steel members. There are a total of 19 horizontal trashrack extensions (3 each at 5 main units and 2 each at 2 fish units). The extensions will be deployed into new guides to be installed. New guides will be installed using rock bolts. Guides and rock bolts are underwater. Hoists, hoist frames, hydraulic power units and controls will also be required to raise and lower the horizontal extensions and the existing vertical blocks. A floating barge crane will be required to deliver and install the trashrack extensions. Completion date is March 15, 2001. Solicitation No. DACW57-00-R-0002 will be issued on or about August 1, 2000. The tentative closing date is September 5, 2000, or 30 days after solicitation is issued.
