the Contracting Officer, Gregory.N.Smith@agf.noaa.gov. The National
Weather Service has a requirement for the purchase of NOAA Weather
Radio (NWR) transmitters, spares, and related support services. The
desired transmitters would be 100, 300, and 1000 watts, FM, 162 MHz,
dual redundant, and possess automatic switching. NOAA may award
contracts separately for each of the three power levels. The support
services may include training, maintenance, installation, and other
support activities. With this procurement, NOAA also seeks to establish
an additional designated source(s) of supply for transmitters to
upgrade and enhance the existing NWR network for purchase by state and
local partnerships. The contract(s) will allow NOAA to purchase up to
157 systems over the next 5 years. State and local partnerships may
purchase additional systems directly. Most of these systems would
likely be purchased and installed in multiple small lots of 1 to up to
as many as 20. All responsible sources may submit a proposal for
consideration by the agency. Once issued, the solicitation will be made
available only via our website.
