Materiel Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, has
a requirement for the modification of Type V Platform Panels and Roller
Pads, supplied as Government Furnished Property (GFP). The side rails,
and the assembly of these components form the Dual Row Airdrop System
(DRAS) Platform. The DRAS Platform assemblies are used specifically
for the C-17 aircraft DRAS development tests. This acquisition is to
provide modification and manufacturing services that maintain precise
control of the reduced physical dimensions of the GFP. The Government
is primarily interested in the rapid modification and production
schedule for delivery of the platform assemblies and spare part side
rails for testing. The contractor shall provide a secure storage area
for the GFP. The contractor is required to provide all of the
engineering, machining expertise, fixtures, machinery tools, fasteners,
rivets, spart parts and shipping materials necessary to deliver,
Ex-works (from the factory of origination), the following components:
Modified DRAS Panel Assemblies, DRAS Platform Assemblies, Modified
Roller Pad Assemblies and Extruded and Machined DRAS Side Rails. The
delivery schedule for the panels, roller pads, machined rails, and
platform assemblies, will be 7 weeks from date of contract award and
receipt of GFP. Thereafter, the DRAS Side Rail extrusions, are to be
delivered 9 weeks from date of contract award. The side rail
manufacture, platform assembly, panel and roller pad modification shall
be accomplished using the Scope of Work included in the Request for
Quotation (RFQ). The Government shall arrange for all associated
shipping charges for the transportation of the GFP. This is a
commercial item. The Government anticipates this acquisition will
result in a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order. The best value source
selection will be based on the quoter's past performance and delivery
schedule, in that order of importance as well as proposed price.
Pricing shall be filled in on the (RFQ) DAAD16-00-T-1099, (CLINs 0001
to 0010). Quoter's shall also submit a one page past performance sheet
listing at least three recent (past two years) references for the same
or similar item. The past performance sheet must contain a point of
contact for each company or Government Agency, a current telephone and
fax number, the dollar amount of the contract or purchase order and
order/contract number. This acquisition is 100% set aside for small
business. The Standard Industrial Classification is 3441; the size
standard is 500 employees. The RFQ will be posted on the Natick
Acquisition Web Site: http://www3.natick.army.mil on or about 14 July
2000. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be
considered by this agency. Quotes may be faxed to (508) 233-5286,
Federal Express, or sent by regular mail to Elaine Scarnici at U.S.
