This work consists of, but is not limited to, furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to perform approximately 2,000 linear feet of stone re-pointing and cleaning. Fourteen historical stone drinking fountains require cleaning and an hourly rate for fifty miscellaneous hours of stone repair and cleaning is required at the Main Justice Building located between Ninth and Tenth Streets, NW and Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC. This work requires the highest level of quality for preparation and technical expertise for re-pointing and repairing stone work which was originally installed in the 1930's. Bidders are required to submit a description of at least two previous projects in the Washington DC metro area which were a minimum of $25,000 for the re-pointing and restoration of historic stone work in commercial or governmental buildings at least 60 years old. References are required from each bidder. Scaffolding is required due to the 15 foot height of the ceiling. The space will be available for work from Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Coordination is required with the Department of Justice for access to the area. Parking is not available on site; however, a freight elevator and off street unloading is available for small trucks. On site personnel require security clearance which can be accomplished by providing name, date of birth and social security number four days prior to the start of work. Davis-Bacon wages apply for this contract. A purchase order will be awarded to the bidder whose offer is determined to be the most advantageous to the Government, based on past performance, price as well as other award factors.
