Sources Sought. The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA intends to purchase two each acoustic ocean current profilers. The frequencies are 38 kHz and 150 kHz. The transducers must be flat-panel, phased array construction. They must fit existing transducer wells of 222.75mm (round) for the 150 kHz and 550mm x 800mm (elliptical) for the 38 kHz. The controller drive chassis must operate the transducers at a cable distance of approximately 130 meters. Data acquisition must include three axis current vectors and suspended material backscatter information. These items are being procured for the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research in Miami, Florida. RD Instruments is the only known source of supply for these items. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire from one source of supply under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1). This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available at this time. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids/proposals based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to RD Instruments, whichever is determined to be most advantageous to the Government, without further notice. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15)calendar days of its publication.
