COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 7,2000 PSA#2637USASOC, DCOFS Acquistion And Contracting, Bldg. E-2929, Fort Bragg, NC
28310 58 -- INMARSATS SOL USZA92-00-B-0002 DUE 071200 POC Karen Glass,
Contract Specialist (910)432-6145 This action originally publicized in
the CBD dated 23 May 2000 and amended on 19 and 29 June 2000, is
amended as follows: The date and time for submission of bids is
extended till 2:30 p.m. EDT on 12 July 2000. E-mail or Faxed bids will
not be accepted. Signed Bids referencing IFB# USZA92-00-B-0002 with
amendments (all three) acknowledged and mailed to USASOC, ATTN: AOCO,
Fort Bragg NC 28310. Additionally, the following questions and answers
are provided. 1. Please clarify the JITC certification requirement.
A1. The certification requirement has been removed. 2. Please confirm
the Part number and the description of the 3COM01 terminal adapter.
Also, what's the model number of the adapter. A2. The part number
previously provided for the 3COM01 adapter was an internal part number
provided by one vendor and is not a generic part number. -- No
specific adapter (Make or Model) is required, it must be an adapter for
Analog devices, such as STU-III and faxes. 3. A contractor would like
to supply an interface for the M4 terminal that will support both
Stu-III and KIV-7 communications through a box that is approximately
the size of a deck of cards. This solution would combine the functions
of the 3 Com TA and the Adtran 2X64 in a single box. This solution
weighs 1/10 of and is approx 1/8 the size of the ADTRAN and 3 com
devices and runs on DC power. However, the Adtran 2X64 supports both
DTR dialing and Keypad dialing for the KIV-7 while the solution AOS
proposes only supports DTR dialing only for KIV-7. Is DTR dialing for
KIV-7 calls an acceptable solution for this bid. A3. Acceptable
solution. ***** Posted 07/05/00 (W-SN471631). (0187) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0107 20000707\58-0003.SOL)
