This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR subpart 12.6 AS supplemented with additional information provided in this notice. This is a sole source acquisition to Alaska Weather Operation Services (AWOS) of Anchorage, AK. This is for the purchase of a aluminum shelters. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation: a quote is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation number F65501-00-00Q0251 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The incorporated document provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3448. ALUMINUM SHELTERS: Line Item 0001: 2 EA, Aluminum Shelters to be constructed of marine grade aluminum. Sidewalls are to be 3/16" thick, the top and bottom are 1/4", 8 aluminum box floor beams of 13/4" x 4" radiating from the center. Continuous weld (water tight) with welded I place doublers. Insulation consists of11/2" min, sprayed in place urethane on the walls and ceiling and 4" of structural closed cell foam in the outer 2" perimeter of the floor, heat is to be provided by thermostatic controlled electric baseboard. Cooling(and exhaust) is by thermostatic controlled exhaust fan with motor controlled cover and modulating motor driven lovers. Devices need to be externally protected from wind and horizontal rain by welded in place aluminum hoods. Supplied electricity through a 60amp 110 & 220 outlets service. Wiring is in condult. Entrance shelter through a 30"x 60" clear opening dogged, insulated, high quality marine door/latch, Shelters are to be octagonal with a size of 10" flat to flat. Roof is to be 81/2" at the peak, dropping 6", able to be anchored to any substrate(gravel, tundra, muskeg) and provided with several engineered tie down systems. Delivery terms shall be FOB destination with delivery to Eareckson AS, no later than 10 days ARO. The following provisions and clauses are incorporated and shall remain in effect in any resultant purchase order: FAR Part 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, Commercial Items is incorporated by reference. The government reserves the right to make award on the initial quote received without discussions.
