Specialist, Peggy A. Doxtater, 504-862-2863 The U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, New Orleans District, has a Best Value requirement for a
contractor to furnish all the labor, supervision, tools, supplies,
materials, equipment, machine shop facilities and transportation
necessary to provide outside (90%) and inside (10%) mechanical services
and crafts for the inspection, maintenance, and repairs to hull,
dredging, propulsion, and auxiliary systems aboard the Hopper Dredge
WHEELER. The majority of the work will be during the wet dock period
normally from September through December at the New Orleans District
Wharf. A portion of the work could be wherever the dredge is currently
operating along the lower coast of the United States. Offeror's
machine shop must be within a 100 mile radius of the New Orleans
District Wharf. This contract will have a base year and three
consecutive option years. Evaluation will be based on technical
capacity and price. Technical factors in descending order of importance
include 1.) Personnel, 2.)Past Performance/CorporateExperience, 3.)
Facilities and Equipment, 4.) Management, 5.) Inspection and Reporting.
Technical capacity, when combined, is slightly more important than
price. This is a 100% Small Business set-aside. Requests for
