R -- HUSBANDING SERVICES FOR GRAND CAYMAN ISLAND, BRITISH WEST INDIES SOL N00189-00-R-0060 POC E. The Government requires husbanding services for the island of Grand Cayman, British West Indies. The services required are for the port of Georgetown. The requirements is for coordination and support services for various types of U.S. Navy and other U.S. Government vessels. U.S. Navy vessels expected to utilize the resultant contract include Class I (small craft ships with 40 crewmembers or less) up to Class V (aircraft carriers). Services will consists of trash removal, collection/holding/transfer (CHT) sewage removal, waste oil and aggregate water removal, fresh potable water, pilotage, tugboat services, linehandler services, crane services, brow (gangway) rental, cargo drayage/free time/detention services, water taxi services, vehicle rental (sedans and buses), paint float rental, forklift services, telephone services (landline and cellular), administration/coordination of airport services, administration/coordination of passenger handling, and disaster/humanitarian relief services as detailed in the statement of work included in solicitation N00189-00-R-0060. This is a new requirement. The solicitation will include provisions for a base year with the option to procure services for four additional one-year periods. The solicitation will contain FAR Clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services and will be issued as full and open competition. Draft solicitation issuance is anticipated on 18 July 2000 with a pre-solicitation/pre-proposal conference to be held in Georgetown on 27 July 2000. The exact time and location for the pre-solicitation/pre-proposal conference will be specified in a modification to this synopsis.
