The Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractor to provide all the labor, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other resources necessary to complete this project. Install approximately 4000 feet of government furnished fiber optic distribution cable (FODC) containing 12 single-mode fibers from the Hayden substation equipment building (located outside on the northeast side of the substation) to the substation service building and to the Hayden Power Plant phone room. Provide and perform work to install approximately 250 feet of buried 4-inch PVC conduit and rigid metal conduit. The FODC shall be pulled into innerduct and installed through conduits, duct banks, cable trenches and cable trays. The Contractor shall furnish and install two 19-inch racks, two fiber optic distribution units (patch panels), one with 12 fiber terminations and one with 24 fiber terminations. Provide and perform fiber optic splices of single-mode preconnectorized pigtails at each end of the two FODC cable routes. Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) testing shall be performed to complete the installation. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be issued in hard copy FREE OF CHARGE. NOTE: In accordance with FAR 5.102-3, Western procurement officials will be limiting availability of this solicitation. Therefore, only a limited number of copies will be issued on a "first-come, first served" basis. There will be only one award made from this solicitation. This solicitation will be issued on or about 7/21/2000. The closing date is on or about 8/22/2000. This proposed procurement is set aside for small business concerns.
