Acquisition Management Branch, Natcher Building, 45 Center Dr., MSC
6600, Room 6AN32, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-6600 66 -- KRYPTON/ARGON DUAL LINE LASER CONFOCAL SCANNER SOL
NIH-NIDDK-00-563 DUE 080700 POC Patricia Haun, Purchasing Agent,
301-594-8855 The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National
Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a
requirement to purchase a Krypton/Argon Dual Line Laser Confocal
Scanner (or equivalent) with Sutter Wheel Filter Changer and an
Extended Warranty. The Scanner system must meet the following
specifications: 1) Shall be a designed multi-beam point scanning --
point detection configuration designed for fast image to capture up to
360 images per second without compromising confocal resolution; 2)
Uses dual spinning disk incorporating patented microlens technology to
achieve exceptional light efficiency of scanning and detection at
speeds of magnitude above conventional galvo scanning (CLSM) systems;
3) Module incorporates factory pre-aligned dichroics and filters. The
filter sets shall include: Blue excitation (488ex/510em); Green
excitation (568ex/610em) and RGB excitation (488,568,647 ex/510, 610,
660em); 4) Module incorporates automated, user selection of multiple
excitation wavelengths (488, 568, 647) using an integrated high speed
filter wheel for analysis of multiple probes; 5) Module permits direct
viewing of confocal images through an eyepiece and/or through the CCD
camera. Samples can be viewed directly in real time for fast location,
focusing and setup, thus limiting photo-bleaching of the sample before
data acquisition; 6) Module permits simultaneous viewing and/or
recording the confocal and brightfield images; 7) Krpton/Argon (50mW)
488, 568nm. The laser is linked to the confocal scanning head using a
fiber guide which eliminates heat transfer and provides vibration free
operation. Imaging Digital Interface shall include: 1) High speed bus
mastering PCI RS422 digital interface board; 2) Supports up to 16 bits
per pixel images at 20 Megapixels per second; 3) Includes integrated
RS232 & TTL controllers for digital camera control; 4) 4Kb FIFO buffer
to prevent DMA buffer under runs. This notice is for the purchase of
commercial equipment within the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of up
to $5 million dollars. It is anticipated that Request for Quotation
(RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-00-563 will be available fifteen (15) days after the
publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due
ten days (10) after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date
is August 7, 2000. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing
and may be FAXED to 301-480-4226. Quotations must be submitted in
writing to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney
Diseases 6705 Rockledge Drive, Building One, Room 8048, Bethesda,
Maryland 20817-7973 Attention: Patricia Haun. FAX quotations must
contain offerors names, address, phone number and fax number. FAX
quotations will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized
company representative. Posted 07/07/00 (W-SN472175). (0189) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0319 20000711\66-0003.SOL)
