E-MAIL: Gloria J. Rhyner, Gloria.J.Rhyner@grc.nasa.gov. NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for thermal barrier coatings applied on Pt-aluminide bond coated nickel based alloy buttons. The task is to produce reduced thermal conductivity zirconia-based thermal barrier coatings (TBC) by EB-PVD. The approach taken shall be co-evaporation of multiple ingots in the EB-PVD chamber with alternative alloying additions. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 8733 and 500 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 3-153744 is on or about July 24, 2000, with an anticipated quote due date of on or about August 11, 2000. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".
