A -- TECHNICAL, ENGINEERING AND SUPPORT SERVICES SOL N00024-00-R-4118 POC Gail Nagle, 02423G, (703) 602-0201 The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a solicitation to Newport News Shipbuilding for up to 248,000 manhours of technical, engineering and support services for CVNX Main Propulsion Unit preliminary design and Main Turbine Generator detail design, manufacture and test specification. The solicitation also includes one (1) CVNX Prototype MTG as well as technical data package, technical manual and related data. As the nation's only builder of large nuclear powered aircraft carriers, NNS has developed a unique capability encompassing all aspects of aircraft carrier design, construction modernization, repair and technical and engineering support. Therefore, NNS is the only viable contractor capable of completing the MPU and MTG design and integration into CVNX Class carriers within the required timeframe.
