827-7177 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items
prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in FAR subpart 12.6,
as supplemented with additional information in the notice. This
announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are requested
and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number
D87081 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the following an
Excalibur RetrievalWare which will replace The Food and Drug (FDA),
Center for Drug Evaluation and Research(CDER) Excalibur's Electronic
File System (EFS) software. RetrievalWare is Excalibur's new and
improved, upgraded and enhanced Web based software for the search and
retrieval of electronic documents and data. This phase of the
RetrievalWare rollout will replace CDERs current EFS File Rooms, which
include AERS Reports, Drug Master File Reviews, Biopharm Division
Files and Approved Package Inserts. This software will be accessed by
the majority of the CDER Community. This requires the purchase of
additional software licenses to support the CDER Community. The
licenses include: Excalibur's RetrivalWare Software Upgrade: One [1]
1000 TMSSequoia ViewDirector Plug-In License + Maintenance, One [1] 200
Concurrent RetrievalWare user License, One [1] 200 Concurrent
Documentum User License and an annual maintenance agreement. Award is
expected to be July 20 2000 with an expected delivery date of August 18
2000. FOB Destination to FDA project officer. Inspection and acceptance
shall be made at destination. The contract shall extend to the
Government full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally
offered in a similar commercial sale. The solicitation clauses and
provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular
97-11. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this
