is provided to assist potential quoters: 1.)The total estimated project
cost for the Buffalo Office redesign is $850,000 for all furniture and
space changes. 2.)Although the design phase is projected to be 6
weeks, the total project duration from start to completion is projected
to be the period August 1, 2000 to March 1, 2001. 3.)There are no
asbestos problems in the space. 4.) Some new walls will have to be
constructed for the relocation of offices and conference rooms. Some
additional electrical & telecommunication work may be involved in
conjunction with the layout of the new furniture, but there will not be
any updating of the entire electrical system, new telecommunication
wiring, flooring or ceilings. The intent of this RFQ is to find a
vendor who can perform design/layout services through collaboration and
teaming with the staff to develop a flexible and mobile office.5) The
existing furniture will be excessed to other federal agencies. There
will be no involvementof the contractor. 6.) The furniture will be
ordered within 60 days of the design. The desired completion date of
the project is March 1, 2001. There will be no competitive bids in
purchasing the furniture but rather a determination of the best value
among holders of GSA schedule contracts. 7.) The furniture vendor will
be responsible for the installation of the new furniture and HUD will
be responsible for the removal/disposal of the existing furniture.8)
The estimates that the design contractor will be required to deliver
are to be for the cost of both materials & labor. The construction
services will be performed by or through GSA/Property Manager of 465
Main Street, Lafayette Court, Buffalo, New York, and may include some
sub-contracting bidding.9.) The construction documents do not have to
be certified by AIA certified architect or other professional but will
have to meet GSA building codes, fire & safety codes and the
American's Disability Act (ADA).10) The AutoCAD drawings include
existing furniture and floor to ceiling walls. The drawings will be
provided to the designer on either cd or diskette.11) The drawings are
from: Autodesk, AutoCAD, release 13 & 14. Please note that this is a
request for quote and there is no "offer" submitted that would, if
accepted, "bind" a quoter. All is subject to negotiations which may
include oral presentations, discussions of payment schedule and other
terms and conditions. The date and time for receipt quotes is extended
