Technical Representative is Mr. Richard Keller, (412) 386-5821 Desc: This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and an award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory intends to issue a Request for Quotations (RFQ) for the replenishment of various industrial gases, necessary repair and testing of government-owned cylinders to include the sites located in Pittsburgh, PA and Morgantown, WV. The supplier must be able to furnish the services to both sites. The proposed requirement will result in a purchase order with a base and two option years. Solicitation Number S0000442 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The period of performance shall be from 1 August 2000 through 31 July 2001 with provisions for two one year options. Offers other than FOB Destination shall be ineligible for award. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items (AUG 1998) is incorporated by reference and applies to this acquisition. Within FAR 52.212-1, an reference to "offer" is changed to read as "quote". The provisions at 52.212-2 Evaluation -- Commercial Items (JAN 1999) does not apply to this acquisition. Instead, the following information will be used for evaluation of offerors: Price shall be the deciding factor among technically acceptable quotes. FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representation and Certifications -- Commercial Items; FAR 52.214-4 Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items, and FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items apply to thisacquisition.
