Army Alaska is conducting a review of potential contractor services for
performance of activities within the Directorate of Community Activity
Services at the U.S. Army Garrison. The program under consideration is
located at Fort Richardson and Fort Wainwright Alaska. The major
functional area is the NAF Community Recreation Division. The purpose
of this notice is to identify and establish initial interest from the
vendor community. Responses are for planning purposes only. There is no
obligation on the part of the government to issue a formal solicitation
as a result of this request and participation in this effort is
strictly voluntary with no cost or obligation to be incurred by the US
Government. Information may be used to help formulate bidder's mailing
lists, acquisition strategies, to include socioeconomic program support
and to help establish commercial practices available to the government.
Companies responding may indicate interest in one or both functional
areas. Services are currently being performed by Government employees
(appropriated and non-appropriated funded). NAF Community Recreation
Division: The program hours of operation of individual activities vary.
There are nine full-time appropriated employees and over forty
part-time and flex employees. Provides programs and services: Fort
Wainwright offers alpine ski area complex including a lodge; boat
launch area; overnight camping facility; two parks; recreational
equipment rental; sport shooting complex for trap, skeet and 5-stand;
sled dog rides; secure storage area for private property; variety of
outdoor programs including fishing day trips, back country adventure,
overnight camping at Denali National Park. Fort Richardson offers
archery range; skeet range; ski hill; walking and fitness trails; three
parks and five lakes; six cabins for rent; recreational vehicle
storage; dog mushing program; ice fishing and ice fishing huts;
recreational equipment rental. Any responses to this notice should
include the following information: company name, point of contact,
address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, brief description
of company and capabilities, experience areas, size, history, awards or
certifications received by the company or its employees, CAGE code
and/or tax ID number, and business size category. Interested parties
should provide responses to the market survey questionnaire that can be
accessed on the U.S. Army Alaska, Directorate of Contracting web site
located at http://www.usarak.army.mil/doc/, by 15 August 2000. The
Standard Industrial Classification is 7999. The standard size for small
business is $5,000,000. Small businesses will be expected to
demonstrate experience in all areas and good past performance. All
contractors who provide goods/services to the Department of Defense
must be registered in the Central Contractor's Register (CCR). Award of
a DOD contract for solicitations issued after 31 May 98 will not be
made unless the contractor is registered in the CCR. You may register
