NASA/JSC intends to purchase the items from SBS Technologies, Inc. The PC7 is a ruggedized, imbedded controller that will be used to expand the X-38 ground telemetry system. This system must process real-time telemetry from the X-38 spacecraft and provide commanding capability to the ground controllers. The ground telemetry system already uses PC5's and buying and identical unit will eliminate any compatibility problems and the need to develop any additional software. This procurement also includes parts to upgrade an existing PC5. The remaining services will be used to assemble X-38 rapid prototype simulation equipment. A Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition stating a unique source (FAR 6.302-1) is being prepared.
