The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) through the ADP Acquisitions Branch, Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a one (1) year sole source simplified acquisition to WJLA- Channel 7-TV, Washington, DC. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to create a prime-time special program on school violence prevention to be aired on the local ABC-TV affiliate which shall promote scientific based violence prevention efforts. This program shall serve as a pilot and prototype for how to promote positive prevention messages and activities to help curb school and youth violence. This special shall also be accompanied by a community-based interactive event with and for viewers, to help raise the issue of school and youth violence prevention and a call to action by students, schools, parents and communities. Closing date is July 24, 2000. This is not a formal solicitation for proposals. However, firms having the ability to satisfy this requirement must submit written notification that demonstrates their ability to do so. If no affirmative responses are received within 10 days from the date of this synopsis, the Contracting Officer shall proceed with the award to WJLA- Channel 7-TV. Numbered Note 22 is applicable.
