The 11th Contracting Squadron on Bolling AFB DC intends to procure a non-personal service for the provision of a camera-ready copy of a historical manuscript tentatively entitled, "Gradual Failure: The Air War over North Vietnam, 1965-1966", containing maps, charts, tables and photographs. It is anticipated that this contract will be awarded under the simplified acquisition procedures for commercial services / items utilizing a firm fixed price contract. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business and is specifically targeting women owned small businesses. Only quotes from women owned small businesses will be considered all others will be rejected. The SIC code is 2731 and the small business standard is 500 employees. The performance period is from 21 August 2000 until 7 May 2001. Offerors must provide a suggested schedule of progress based on the CDRLs and SOW. It is important to have a workable schedule that canbe adhered to for this project. REQUIREMENT DESCRIPTION: This project requires the copyedit, indexing, and layout services necessary to produce a CAMERA-READY copy of a historical manuscript. The volume consists of approximately 315 single-spaced pages (or 630 double-spaced pages), including glossary, bibliography, and photographs. It is estimated that the manuscript will result in a typeset text of 441 pages in length. The contractor shall provide approximately 35 black and white and color photographs with captions. Additionally, the finished copy will include 1 map, 6 charts, 16 tables, a glossary and indexing. The source endnotes at the end of chapters shall not be indexed; explanatory footnotes at the bottom of pages of the text shall be indexed. All offerors must access the Electronic Posting System (EPS) to download the Statement of Work and the Contract Data Requirements List prior to submitting quotes. Each quote should include all costs, including those for mailing, shipping, and overnight or messenger pickups and deliveries. All offerors must be currently registered with the Central Contractors Registry (CCR). Contractors may contact the CCR by calling 1-888-227-2423. Each offeror must submit three recent references with current point of contact and phone numbers with their quotes. In addition, each offeror will submit a copy of their qualifications to demonstrate capability in this field.
